Smoked Whole Chicken
Smoked Whole Chicken is the absolute best of smoker recipes. This smoked whole chicken recipe is perfect every time and utilizes Kinder's Poultry Rub. Full of flavor and easy to prep for the smoker or grill.
Combine Kinder's Buttery Poultry Rub and room temperature unsalted butter. Season under skin as possible.
Split chicken in half by first removing the spine with poultry sheers and then split the breast down the middle to create two halves.
Pat dry the chicken and rub the outside of the bird with olive or vegetable oil and season with Kinder's Buttery Poultry. Place chicken on baking sheet and put in fridge to dry marinate while heating up smoker.
Get smoker temp up to 300, a hotter, faster smoke combined with fridge time will help dry out the skin giving better bite through experience.
Once smoker is ready, place chicken skin side up and cook until breasts read 160 and thighs are around 170.
Lightly baste with your favorite Kinder's BBQ sauce around the time interval temp of the breasts registering at 145. Mix a little butter into warmed up sauce for a glossy bird.
