Dried Orange Ornaments

Add some freshness to your tree decorations with orange slice ornaments. They will add an extra bit of coziness everyone wants for the holiday.

• 4-5 navel oranges
• serrated knife
• cutting board
• baking sheets
• parchment paper
• ribbon, fishing wire or twine
• mint leaves to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Slice oranges 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick and place in a single layer on the baking sheets.
3. Blot with paper towel to remove excess moisture and speed up the drying process.
4. Place in the over and bake for 5-6 hours at 250 degrees F or until the oranges start to turn slightly brown and dry.
5. Let oranges cool.
6. String the oranges on the ribbon, fishing wire. Poke the line through the flesh of the orange, not the rind.
7. Finish with greenery like mint leaf.
